Are randomly generated lottery numbers better than picking my own?
Every combination has exactly the same probability of being drawn — random picks, birthdays, and "lucky numbers" all share identical odds. However, random numbers have one practical advantage: they avoid popular patterns (dates limit picks to 1–31, sequences like 1-2-3-4-5-6 are chosen by thousands), so if you do win, you are statistically less likely to split the jackpot.
What are the odds of winning the jackpot?
