Where the green bands line up is when everyone is at their desk. If no hour overlaps, it says so — and the amber band shows who at least would be awake, which is usually the basis for a fair compromise.
Yes, and this is where most time-zone tools go wrong. Times are read from your device's own IANA time-zone database rather than from stored UTC offsets, so daylight saving is applied automatically. That matters most in the two or three weeks each spring and autumn when some regions have switched and others have not — the period when manual offset tables quietly give the wrong answer.
Several zones run on 30- or 45-minute offsets. India is UTC+5:30, Nepal is UTC+5:45, parts of Australia are UTC+9:30, and the Chatham Islands are UTC+12:45. These are genuine offsets, not errors. The calculator shows fractional differences rather than rounding them, because rounding is how meetings get missed.

Because the world spans more than 24 hours of offsets. When it is Monday evening in Los Angeles it is already Tuesday afternoon in Tokyo. Each card shows its own weekday and date for exactly this reason — a meeting agreed for 'Tuesday 9am' can land on different calendar days for different attendees, which is a common and avoidable scheduling error.
The green band is 09:00–18:00 local and the amber band is 07:00–22:00. These are conventions, not rules, and they vary by culture and role — many countries take a long midday break, and plenty of people work outside them. Treat the bands as a starting point for a conversation rather than a verdict.
