How much flooring do I need?
Multiply the room's length by its width to get the area, then add a waste allowance (usually 10%) for cuts and mistakes. Divide the total by the coverage printed on each box to get the number of boxes, and round up. For a 5 × 4 m room that's 20 m² + 10% = 22 m²; at 2.2 m² per box you'd need 10 boxes.
How much waste should I allow for flooring?
Allow about 10% for a simple rectangular room with a straight-lay pattern, 15% for diagonal layouts, and more for rooms with lots of doorways, alcoves, or angled walls. Longer planks and patterned floors generate more offcuts.
Should I buy an extra box?
Yes — keeping one unopened box is smart. It lets you replace a damaged plank later with an exact colour and batch match, since production runs vary slightly and older styles are often discontinued.
